Truth be told, I was getting kind of tired of using some of my old products, but carried on as I knew they worked well.  However, I feel that my skin got used to the products, and it has given me a nudge in a new direction via the medium of spots!  Yuk but lol!  I have more or less figured out the spots - touch wood - but as they appear on my chin, it results in scars, and I don't like scars.  Today (16th Feb - dunno when I'm gonna post this atm), I received two littttttle packages that have brought light to my life!  The first product is a glycolic treatment product, which I hope will help the turnover of my skin, and help rid me of my scars quickly:  it is one I have seen on QVC millions of times, but never ordered until now as I am at the end of my metaphorical tether!  It is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold:
The website says A powerful night time resurfacing and firming lotion for the skin. This exclusive complex jump-starts the skin’s metabolism, tightens enlarged pores, and delivers lighter, clearer and more even skin tone. Also an effective treatment for acne when used in conjunction with our other acne solutions.  In terms of ingredients, it contains one of my fave acids: glyyyyyyyyyyyyycolic! Woop! I have high hopes for this, and will report back on immediate, intermediate and long-time effects!  Please be careful re using this product.  My skin is very tolerant to types of acids, and as such, I experience no adverse reactions from this, but if you are new to the world of acids, you really need to go slow and do a patch test.  It takes a while to build up tolerance.  Update since I wrote this: I have used this twice now, and bloody love it!  My skin is so much clearer, which I can only attribute to this as my other new skincare bits and bobs will defos take a little while to achieve results! Really looking forward to seeing more results from this.
The second product I purchased was the Caudalie Beauty Elixir:
Inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, Caudalie Beauty Elixir smoothes features, tightens pores and provides instant burst of radiance to the complexion. Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a favourite of Victoria Beckham's - she uses it on top of her make-up for a glowing complexion! Main ingredients: extracts of grape essential oil of rosemary, orange blossom and rose extracts, benzoin, myrrh essential oils of oraganic balm mint and mint.   I have heard that this is brilliant used as a toner to help combat acne, and have picked up the small 30ml size for now to see how I get on with it.  As of two days use, I am loving it, and loving the smell - I can't quite put my finger on what it reminds me of, but it is lovely.
The third product which I didn't mention earlier (blush), but you can see in the first pic, is the Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector.
My Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator just isn't cutting it with my new scars, so I picked this up.  Dermatologist-developed to be safe and comfortable in improving the appearance and evenness of skin tone by 53%. Helps reduce the appearance of dark spots, age spots, traces of a blemish past. For all ethnicities. Can be used comfortably twice daily, and long-term. Suitable for all skin types and tones.I was originally going to buy the new Kiehl's serum, but the salespersons in the shop knew less about skincare than me, and just read stuff to me off the poster when I asked about effects and active ingredients.  But the Clinique lady really was knowledgeable about this, and even did a skin analysis for me, and got everything spot-on!  The serum is a yellowy colour, and very light, almost hydrating too.  Takes a minute to sink in, but skincare should always, always take a second to sink in, otherwise you know they're pumping you full of seriously unwanted chemicals.  Remember - your skin is a barrier between you and the world, if it just let anything absorb into you quickly, you would be in big trouble.  You should find that your skin always thinks about letting your products through before it actually does!  Anyways, back to the skincare assistant - she recommended - and gave me a sample of - the Clinique Even Better Foundation, and let me tell you, I adore it!  I will defos be buying that next time Debenhams has a 10% off code!
So, there is the re-vamp of my skincare, I'll let you know how I fare!  The only thing left to get is a brush head for my Clari, which incidentally, I posted a review on yesterday!
Big fat p.s.: any kind of acid - especially glycolic requires a SEPERATE daily SPF to be used.  Aka not the one in your moisturiser, not the one in your foundation, but a seperate one.  Again, the Clinique serum (and any other pigmentation-reducing, dark-spot correcting, and brightening serums) require an SPF to be worn daily.  Think about, the sun is the main cause of ageing, and all these dark spots, dullness, lines etc are caused mainly by the sun, so if you use one of these type of serums and omit the sunscreen you will counteract the actions of your serum, and will never get anywhere!  So sunscreen OK?!
This is the one I loooooooooooooove:
Smells like peaches=]
Love A.x
p.s. I did something a lil fancy pants with the pics - hope you liked them!
